Terms of Service

These terms apply when you book lessons with Potchefstroom Driving Academy or use this website. By booking you agree to them. They are written in plain language.

Learners licence

By law you must hold a valid learners licence to take driving lessons. You must bring it, and your ID, to every lesson. If you arrive without a valid learners licence the lesson cannot take place and counts as a late cancellation.

Bookings and lessons

• An online booking reserves your first lesson. The remaining lessons in a package are planned with your instructor and confirmed on WhatsApp.
• Lessons are one hour, including pick up and drop off within Potchefstroom.
• Please be ready at your pick up address at the booked time. If you are not there within 15 minutes the lesson is treated as a no show.
• Lessons in a package must be used within six months of the first lesson unless we agree otherwise.

Packages and payment

• Prices are shown on the packages page and may change without notice, but the price you see when you book is the price you pay for that booking.
• Packages are paid in full at the office or by EFT before the first lesson.
• Each lesson package includes one free recap lesson on test day and the hire of our vehicle for one driving test. Additional tests or recap lessons are quoted separately.

Test day

Booking of the driving test itself is done with the licensing office. We guide you through it and plan your lessons around the date, but test availability and results are set by the testing station, not the academy. The vehicle used for your test is provided by the academy and remains under the instructor's supervision.

Conduct and safety

Learners must follow instructor guidance at all times. We reserve the right to end a lesson without refund if a learner is under the influence, unsafe, or abusive. Learners are responsible for any traffic fines incurred through their own conduct that the instructor could not prevent.

Cancellations and refunds

These are handled under our separate Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

The content and design of this website belong to Potchefstroom Driving Academy. Availability shown online is a guide and is confirmed on WhatsApp.

Disclaimer

We do everything in our power to prepare every learner to pass, but a pass depends on the learner's performance on the day and cannot be guaranteed. To the extent allowed by law, the academy is not liable for loss or damage arising from a lesson, other than where we have been negligent. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
